Selina Hanselmann joined the UFL in October 2023 after completing her Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences in Bern. She then began her doctoral studies in Medical Sciences at UFL, focusing on the impact of foehn winds on human health.
Selina Hanselmann began her academic journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Fribourg (2018–2021), where she gained experience in metabolic research and discovered her passion for medical research. She continued her studies with a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Bern, focusing on cardiovascular and nephrological research. During her Master’s thesis at the Inselspital Bern, she investigated sex-specific differences in kidney segments.
Since 2023, Selina is a doctoral student at the UFL, where she is part of the team at the Institute of Laboratory Medicine (ILM).
In her free time, Selina enjoys spending time outdoors, whether going for a hike or being with her horses. She also finds balance through yoga and enjoys listening to music to relax.
