«Reading Immunogenetics»

The aim of our research is to decipher the link between a person’s individual genetic traits and the function of their immune system.

In order to correlate genetic variations within a population with the variation in these people’s immune responses, we generate very detailed maps of certain immune-relevant genes. Such maps will allow for the identification of any specific immunological and phenotypic effects caused by allelic variation.

Our work is the basis for developing new diagnostic methods for personalised medicine in the context of vaccinations, pregnancy, blood transfusions and transplants.
