Selina Hanselmann started her academic career with a bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences at the University of Fribourg (2018–2021), where she discovered her passion for medical research. She then completed a master's degree in biomedical sciences at the University of Bern with distinction (2021–2023).

Through various internships during her studies, Selina gained in-depth experience in laboratory work and scientific research in different fields, such as metabolic and cardiovascular research. Her master's thesis at the Inselspital Bern, focused on the sex- and gender-specific differences in renal segments.

Selina is currently a doctoral candidate at the Institute of Laboratory Medicine (ILM), while completing a doctorate in medical science (Dr. scient. med.) at the UFL.
