Maike Bublitz-Meier obtained a Diploma in Biology at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany, and did a PhD in structural biology at the Helmholtz-Centre for Infection Research. Subsequently, she was a postdoc at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Aarhus University, Denmark. In 2015, she started her own research group at the Goethe-University Frankfurt and was recruited shortly thereafter by the University of Oxford, where she acted as Associate Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Tutorial Fellow at Oriel College until the fall 2023.

Her main scientific interest is protein structural analysis by experimental and computational methods, with a particular focus on investigating important membrane proteins. Her research contributes to the development of novel antimicrobial and antifungal drugs.

Since October 2023, Maike Bublitz-Meier leads the Immunogenetics group at the ITM.
